Report a Breeder
How to Report to Authorities
If you believe a breeder is acting irresponsibly or illegally, your report could help protect animals and prevent scams.
- Local Council & Trading Standards
Contact your local council’s licensing team and Trading Standards office. They are responsible for investigating unlicensed breeding and welfare breaches. - What to Provide
Gather as much information as possible to support your report:- Breeder’s name and/or business name
- Address or location
- Website, social media links, or phone number
- Dates and times of contact or visits
- Screenshots of adverts, messages, or listings
- Photos or videos (if safely obtained)
- A short description of your concerns (e.g., underage sales, poor conditions, health concerns, suspected puppy farm, etc.)
- If animals are in immediate danger
Please contact the RSPCA (UK) or your local animal welfare charity straight away. They are best placed to act quickly in urgent cases.
Can’t or Unsure How to Report?
